KC Resort& Over Water Villas is delighted to offer Watsu at the Mayang Sari Spa
What is Watsu?
Watsu is a type of bodywork performed while lying in a warm water pool (around 35 °C) instead lying on a more traditional mat or massage table. It’s a deeply relaxing combination of water-based exercise, flotation and massage. Watsu was developed by Harold Dull in 1980. Its name comes from a combination of the words “water” and “shiatsu.”
The receiver of Watsu treatment is continuously supported by the therapist while he or she rocks and gently stretches the body. Because it is performed in the water, the body is free to be manipulated and stretched in ways impossible while on the land. And the water is both gentle and effective.
Watsu is sometimes referred to as “aquatic bodywork” or “aquatic physiotherapy”.
